2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Offers Elegance, On-Road and Off

The 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is a smaller, sleeker version of the famous Range Rover SUV, but it holds onto the traditional characteristics of its brand.

The suspension and drivetrain allow this SUV to give a smooth ride and solid performance.

The Range Rover Sport also has a fit and finish and materials that are top-notch.

The majority of SUV buyers are family people who have safety as a consideration, so it's good that Land Rover packs on a lot of standard safety equipment and some fancy options to give drivers peace of mind when it comes to avoiding accidents and reducing the damage from those that occur.

Passengers will also have a pleasant experience in the Sport, with HSE trim models coming well equipped and Supercharged models having a host of technology enhancements.

But of course the downside to being that well-equipped is that the Sport is carrying a great deal of weight, and that hurts its fuel economy.

The Sport gets EPA ratings of 12 mpg city, 17 highway. That’s really not anything to jump for joy over, so if great fuel economy is on your wish list, you might want to take a look at some other models.

But fuel economy notwithstanding, the Sport truly has many positive qualities.

The styling, on the interior and exterior, is elegant and well-conceived, and has improved substantially from previous models.

The Sport has an upgraded power train that generates good on-road and off-road performance.

The quality materials used in the cabin are not only attractive, they are also functional.

However, taller drivers and passengers might be a bit disappointed by the leg room, which is surprisingly limited for a vehicle of this size.

The Range Rover Sport ranges in price from around $60,000 to about $77,000, with the test-drive model carrying a sticker price of $77,645.

For good on-road performance and off-road capability, the Range Rover Sport is a luxurious offering for those seeking a versatile family vehicle.
